Colt Single Action Army Revolver, 4 3/4″ barrel, 45 Colt early 3 Gen
This is an early (1976 manufacture) 3rd generation Colt SSA revolver in 45 Colt it has a 4 3/4″ barrel (sometime called Civilian Model) it has a 6 round cylinder. It is finished in deep royal blue on the barrel, cylinder, and trigger guard and in color-case-hardened steel frame and hammer. The revolver is fitted with standard authentic period-style checkered black hard rubber which feature the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top and eagle motif at the bottom. The 3rd Generation Colt SAA began in 1976 and features an “SA” suffix initially, later moving to an “SA” prefix, and eventually an “S” prefix with an “A” suffix. Early 3rd Generation models featured a different cylinder bushing design than 2nd Generation guns.
Condition:
The overall condition of this early 3 Gen Colt SAA is excellent. The original finish of the revolver is nearly intact with little or no finish loss. There is no perceptible drag on the cylinder. The deep blue on the frame and barrel are in excellent condition. The bore is bright with crisp, sharp rifling. The vibrant color case of this Colt is in excellent condition with no finish loss. This Colt SAA Army is in excellent mechanical condition and operates flawlessly.
This is an excellent early 3rd Generation Colt SAA in the popular 45 Colt and was very little if ever used and would rate the overall condition at 99%+. These revolvers with the 4 3/4″ barrel have excellent balance and are easy to carry in a belt holster.
