Condition:
The overall condition of this Colt Junior pocket pistol is near excellent. It retains about 96-97% of its original blue finish and exhibits holster wear at the muzzle and along the slide. The frame shows hight edge wear with intermittent scuffs and thinning blue on the back strap. The grips have sharp checkering and are in excellent condition. The bore of this Colt Junior is also in excellent condition. The 22 short are less common than the 25 ACP. This one was made in Spain in 1963.
These Colt Junior pistols were manufactured by Astra in Spain for Colt from 1958 through 1968. They are known for their 2.25-inch barrel, 13-ounce weight, and simple blow back operation. The pistol was imported by Colt until the Gun Control Act of 1968 prohibited the import of such small handguns. From 1970 to 1972, Colt circumvented the import ban by having FIE (Firearms Import & Export Corporation of Miami, FL) import the parts for assembly in the US, before ceasing production.
