Antique Winchester Model 1886 Lever Action Rifle in .38-56 wcf
This is a Winchester 1886 rifle with 26″ full octagon barrel and standard walnut stocks, semi-buckhorn barrel sight and blade front sight. Re-blue finish.

Condition:
This is an early Winchester 1886 rifle manufactured in 1889, the 38-56 cartridge was introduced in 1887. The overall condition of this rifle is fine it has been re-blued in the past sometime and the finish is about 75-80% showing some finish loss on the action and on a couple of places along the barrel. The stocks are in good shape and may have been refinished at some point since the stock is even with the metal surfaces and shows some spotting in some places. They exhibit handling bumps and scratches due to use over the years but have a pleasing vintage look. The front sight has had a brass wrap over the original blade sight that has been riveted to the sight and looks period. Probably added to ad sight picture. The bore is mostly bright with great rifling and some light pitting typical of a rifle of this age. The legends are in good shape and are sharp the caliber mark is a little light but readable. The action chambers and locks up tight and ejects a round strong as it should. This being an antique it can be shipped directly to the buyer
